Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
1. I did not play like I didn't hear Tillie Ann rustling in her bed looking for her pacy just so the hubby would go put it in her mouth for her. I would never do that.
2. I did not slip in the buggy at Wal-Mart 2 new shirts when the hubby was not looking. I would not try to hide things.
3. I did not eat Tillie Ann's veggie puffs for my snack because they are low in cals and fat grams and she didn't get a single one. I would never do that. (She did have other puffs).
4. I would never put Tillie Ann in the bed with me so I could get a little extra sleep.
5. I would never fall asleep in church because of too much fun the night before. That is not something I would do.
6. I did not dress my child in the same undershirt that she slept in the night before to go to Mrs. Linda's. That is not gross.
7. I would never allow my child to chew on the corner protectors that I had just put on just because she would cry if I took it away. Not me !

Overalls, Sunglasses, and Daisy

Aren't they so cute. Today we had some errands to run. I dressed Tillie Ann in her overalls and then took her in the living room for Buddy to watch so I could get dressed. Well, when he cam out of the closet guess what he was wearing. Yes, can you say, OVERALLS. Well, I don't have overalls or I would have been in them too. Then we went to Wal-Mart and Tillie just had to have some sunglasses. WE got a pack of 5 for only $1.00. (Just in case they break or get lost) On the way home the sun was in her eyes so I put her glasses on her and this is how she was taken out of the car seat. TOO CUTE.

Tillie Ann in Wal-Mart with her new glasses!

Disregard the messy garage. It is an ongoing cleaning process. This is Tillie Ann's new 4 leg friend Daisy. She is the neighbors dog who loves Tillie Ann and Tillie Ann loves her. She will sit in her high chair and look out the backdoor window to see if she is out there. Here They are loving on one another.

Date Night... Well Prom Night :)

The hubby and I always try to have a date night once a month and this month just happened to be the night he had to chaperon the Prom. We were able to do this last year, but we waited too late to go eat anywhere nice so this year we made up for it. The hubby made reservations for us at Ruth's Chris and I arranged for a babysitter (i.e. Pop "I" and BB). I know it is silly but I was really excited about going. I really think it was just being able to get away with the hubby. Anyways, we had some pictures made at home and said our goodbyes and headed to eat. When we got to the restaurant we sat down and the assistant waiter came by and asked us if we wanted a bottle of spring water or sparkling water. Of course, not having been to this nice of a restaurant in a long time, we took the bait and got the bottle of water (we didn't know that they were $6.00 a bottle). We order our food and began to talk about how nice the place was when there was a couple was sat next to us. The same situation too place, but the couple said "no we will just take regular water. NOTE: The hubby and I had just gotten a SECOND bottle of water. Can you say: WOW. So the hubby proceeds to tell me that I better finish the whole bottle of water before we leave. Oh yeah by the way, the water was bottled by nestle`. We got our food and can I say that it was the best steak and shrimp that I have ever eaten. Then came dessert. I can't even begin to describe the sensation that my taste buds went through. After I finish my bottle of water we paid our bill and made our way to the Prom.
HOW MUCH!!

At the Prom, we manned our station and didn't allow students to go out the door that we were working. Can I say that dancing has changed since I went to a Prom 9 years ago?! There were so many people on the dance floor that you couldn't squeeze through to the middle. After a wonderful night of watching kids dance and having a good time, we went home to our sleeping little girl. Oh yeah by the way, I am not as young as I thought I could be, I feel asleep on the trip back home. :) OH WELL.

Happy Spring :)

Today the hubby and I took Tillie Ann to the park to kick off spring. I can tell you where we will be all summer long, at the park. She absolutely loved the slides. We had originally thought that we would go to let her experience the swings, but since it had rained, it was too wet. She started out on the little slide, then went to the "big girl" slide.
After she finally was tired of sliding, we rode the bouncing horses. On the way home, the wonderful hubby said, "I think it is time we look into buying a wooden play set." So if anyone out there knows anyone who wants to sell their play set, we are totally interested in buying one.
Oh yeah by the way, what do you think of the hubby's hat????
We hope that you are having a blast with this warm weather. We sure are. Happy Spring!!!

PIE night at school

At the school I work at we make every attempt possible to get parents involved in their child's education. Every so often they do PIE night. This was the 1st one that we were able to attend. The theme was "Oscars". So we made star tiles that had our hand prints on them and Tillie was able to see some friends that she hadn't seen in a while. We had so much fun. Check it out: This is the hand print tile.
This is Mrs. Allison who has not held me in a long time.

Wordless Wednesday

I hope to never see the "Michael Jackson" mask or the Mohawk ever again. (The mask is because I have a nasty respiratory virus and this is the only way I can be around the little "punk rocker".)
Sorry not so "wordless".

Hopefully I am a coffee bean :)

OK around here we have had our bout with sickness over the last month. From the stomach virus, to the flu, to now with me a respiratory virus. As I sat down to type this I received an email from a wonderful friend and it kinda changed my prospective on this sickness epidemic that is going around this household. I hope you can walk away from your next trial a coffee bean and not a carrot or an egg. A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up, She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose. Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, 'Tell me what you see.' 'Carrots, eggs, and coffee,' she replied. Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg. Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, 'What does it mean, mother?' Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water. 'Which are you?' she asked her daughter. 'When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean? Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength? Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart? Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean? May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy. I hope you have a wonderful week and hopefully this burst of cold weather will not last long. Keep us in your prayers please.

Crawling (well army crawling)

We have officially started to crawl. Well not necessarily crawling by the book definition, more like an army crawl, but we are still moving. It is the cutest thing until she ran into the door facing in the living room. She is growing up way too fast.

Tillie Ann's First Basketball Game

A couple of weekends ago, the fam attended the semi-final basketball games at Wallace State. The hubby's school was playing. Both boys and girls were in the finals. Tillie Ann was feeling much better after a bout with RSV (another time explaining this nasty virus) so she was able to go with us. I thought that the loud buzzers, people screaming, and the atmosphere might scare her, but I was totally wrong. She screamed at the right time and cried when they did not do good. But, all the excitement was too much for her because she fell asleep towards the end. That girl can sleep through anything.

Hubby and Tillie Ann after the boys won and it was time to go home.
