Blog Hop- Recipe

I am hopping on the blog hop again this week. I have had so much fun reading and finding new blogs. I am from the South and my recipe post is a drink from a wonderful tea room. It is called Town Tea. Hope you enjoy a little taste from the South.

This is the tea at my baby shower at work. YUM!!!
Tea bags for 2 gallons of tea
1 1/2 quarts of boiling water
2 cups of granulated sugar
1(48 ounce) can of pineapple juice
1(12 ounce) can of frozen OJ
1(12 ounce) can of frozen lemonade
Place tea bags in a bowl or pitcher. Pour boiling water over tea bags. Add sugar, stirring to dissolve. Let tea bags steep in sugar water several hours or overnight. Discard tea bags. Add juices, stirring well. Pour equal amounts into 2 one gallon jugs. Add water to each to fill jug. Refrigerate. Shake well before serving. Makes 2 gallons.

Little Diva

Just in case you get a call from me and nobody says anything this is why. Tillie loves to act like she is talking on the phone. She picks it up and says "O" then she will sit there acting like someone is talking to her. So next time you get a call, it has my name on the caller id, and nobody says anything I am sorry. It's just Tillie Ann the little diva.

Family Reunion

This past weekend was a weekend full of family activities in lower Alabama that most people have never heard of. It all started on Friday with a great trip to a place called Safford. My grandparents have a farm there and this was the location for one of the reunions. As a child I, didn't like to go to reunions because I didn't see the need. Now that I am adult and have a child I see that these are so important because in the end all you have is your family. Friday afternoon we arrived and we getting unpacked and decided to take Tillie on a ride on the scooter. Tillie has not been on many motorized vehicles so you can imagine how this went. She also met her 1st cow face to face. She didn't really care for it. After we ate, Tillie was playing in the house and I kept hearing her grunt like she was frustrated. So I went to investigate and this is what I found: She thought that this was a ball and couldn't figure out why she couldn't pick it up. On Saturday, was the big event at the house. All the children and grandchildren of my great- grandfather were invited to come and fellowship. Many of them showed up and we visited for a while. Tillie and Jackson played in the pool, on the scooter, and anything else that could take them places. The infamous 4-wheeler made an appearance again, but BB didn't have to push Tillie on it this time. There was too many other things to keep Tillie occupied. After everyone left, some of the men went hunting. Well just 3 of them. Everyone else was too tired. Check out the hunters. My nephew, Jackson, loves big tractors. While we were there he was able to ride a "BIG TRACTOR". This should be the next Massey Ferguson ad. On Sunday we traveled over to a little town called Sweet Water. This is where the traditional reunion is held with the entire family. There was not many in attendance this year, but the ones that were had a great time and a great meal. Overall the weekend was so much fun. We had a wonderful time and can't wait until next year. :)

A new wall decoration

I love Uppercase Living products. I have several in my house. I put all of them up as soon as I got them except for one. It stated "Together we make a family." I loved it so much in the book and tried to copy it. It had a picture of a mommy and daddy kissing their little one. Buddy and I have several times tried to capture this, but it never turned out. Well, I was tired of looking at it in my closet so today I got busy decided what to do. So for less than $30 I created this with a little help from Buddy.
In the big frames are pictures of Buddy, Tillie, and me. The little frames have pictures of Tillie and me and Buddy and Tillie and just Tillie. The frames are all different sizes and shapes, but they are all rectangles. This made it a challenge to line up. There was no keeping it all in a little square. (Not the best picture because I am standing on the bed. that is why it is a little crooked.)
There was a lot of rearranging and moving so instead of putting nails in the walls we bought these new picture hangers. They work so good.

The invitation

Here are the invitations. A sweet lady off Esty made them for me. You just send the information and she creates the invitation and emails it to you. SO neat and fast. What do you think?

A trip to the dentist

As you all know this month is totally packed full of activities having to do with looking your best. On Friday, I told Buddy that we really needed to try hard for no bumps, bruises or scraps on Tillie so she could look her best for her pictures that were taken this morning. So far so good, until Saturday night. Tillie has learned to walk and all of you know that babies that are learning to walk have the "occasional" fall. Tillie was walking on the hardwood floor and tripped on her feet and BAM face first on the floor. Of course we say "UH-OH", thinking that maybe it was a no bleeder tip situation, oh but no. It was pouring blood. But, I stayed calm and tried to find out where it was bleeding from. Her lip started swelling as well as her tooth. We decided to call our family dentist and get her checked her out and he said that her tooth was definantly pushed back up into her gum and that if there was no nerve damage that it would come back down by Christmas. So several Popsicles later, the swelling has went down enough to make so great pictures.
Check out my lip on the day after!
On the way to see Dr. Barker!!!
Waiting to see the Dr.
In the chair, watching Daddy blow up glove balloons.

Blog Hop

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite pictures. It is of Jackson and Tillie Ann. I don't know if he was giving her loving and she didn't want it or if she was making him get out of the way. Who know! It is just cute.

Party planning

I am in full mode of planning Tillie Ann's 1st birthday party. The theme is going to be polka dots. I have almost everything finished but a few small details. I have decided to cook her cupcakes instead of buying them. Here is a photo of what they will look like. Just icing and m & m's.
This is her plate. Some are like this and some have a 1 on them.
So start praying now!!! I have most of the invitations filled out and ready to be mailed, so keep a watch on the mailbox. I think I have been planning this party since she was born. So stay tuned to hear more about Tilliepaloosa 2009.

And the rockets red glare.....?

Our family started the 4th of July weekend off with a birthday party for my grandmother. We met at her house on Friday night for a birthday party. Tillie Ann had so much fun spending time with the family members, especially her favorite cousin Jackson. He shared his 4-wheeler with her and they had a ball. BB (my mom) pushed and pushed them until she could not push anymore. We had a scrumptious meal and wonderful desserts. Pop "I" and Clint cooked up really good hush puppies and fish. Jackson was chasing a bird and was about to go into the corn when Uncle Buddy saved him. Smiling for the camera. Waiting...... BB says "NO MORE" Our chefs. The next celebration was back at the camp ground with Papaw and Nanny. We had the traditional meal of boiled shrimp, potatoes, and corn. This year a new item was added: crawfish. Everyone seemed to like the new item. We played at the camp ground until Tillie Ann could play no more. So this year we did not see any rockets of red glare, but watch out next year because we will be there. Playing hard. Look at those little red cheeks.
